Aurora Farias is a bilingual licensed clinical social worker with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health at Harbor UCLA adult outpatient psychiatry clinic. She received her MSW from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2009 and her BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of California, Riverside (UCR) in 2005. Aurora was intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in 2010 and has been a member of the Spanish and English DBT treatment teams at Harbor UCLA since 2008. Aurora was also trained by Edna Foa, PhD the developer of Prolonged Exposure (PE) an evidenced based treatment model for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and is a certified clinician using this treatment protocol with both Spanish and English clients. Ms. Farias has also been intensively trained and supervised using the evidenced based treatment modality of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Aurora also attended trainings in Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) and Seeking Safety. Ms. Farias is now supervising Social Work interns and taught a Spanish CBT course for the Department of Mental Health Clinicians. Aurora has volunteered at the Latino Behavior Health Institute since 2008.  Lastly, she has presented for the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).
