FSP
*The Adult FSP program will accept one student for the 2023-2024 academic year.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM AND POPULATION
Adult Full Service Partnership (FSP) programs serve adult clients, diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, incarceration, institutionalization, and/or psychiatric inpatient services.
The FSP program at Harbor-UCLA serves adults living primarily in the South Bay (Service Area 8). Clients are of low socioeconomic status and often present with multi-morbidity (e.g., psychiatric, substance dependence, medical issues). The FSP team helps clients with psychiatric symptoms and other needs such as housing.
INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
FSP interns provide comprehensive mental health services at the office and in the field, including outreach and engagement, biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, intensive case management, psychotherapy, rehabilitation, crisis intervention, and advocacy. Interns participate in individual and group supervision, interdisciplinary team meetings, and trainings on cognitive-behavioral interventions.
