AOP

ACT for Chronic Pain:

The goal of Acceptance, Commitment Therapy (ACT) is to create a rich, full and meaningful life, while accepting the pain that inevitably goes with it. Clients will learn skills to help them manage pain more effectively, get help with difficult thoughts about their pain and pursue their life goals again.

Building Self Esteem Group:

Clients will learn where low self-esteem comes from, how to identify it, and what methods can be used to build self-esteem.

CBT Depression & Anxiety Group:

This group is intended for clients who experience symptoms of Anxiety and Depression. This is a 16 week-Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) group that uses the Muñoz CBT depression protocol. It covers topics such as isolation, self-care, getting active (socializing) and changing unhelpful thought patterns.

Healthy Living Group:

This group will assist clients to develop healthy living skills such as proper nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, healthy lifestyle choices, and behavioral changes that will lead to healthier lifestyle.

Leisure Group:

Clients will participate in enjoyable, therapeutic, and social activities. Some examples of groups include arts/crafts, drawing/painting, movie matinees, bingo, dance/exercise, games group, creative drama/singing. Special events are also celebrated in group, for major holidays. Community Reintegration Outings are scheduled for clients.

NAMI- Family to Family Class (Spanish):

Nami is for family members, partners and friends of someone living with a mental illness. “Before I took the course, I felt alone and overwhelmed dealing with my daughter’s mental illness. By taking this course, I have met others who are going through the same things I am and have learned about many resources that I never knew existed.”

NAMI Support Group (Spanish):

For consumers (people living with a mental illness)

Relaxation Group:

Learn to de-stress, and learn relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, muscle tensing/relaxation exercises and visual imagery. Positive affirmations will be a part of the session. Soft music and a relaxing environment will enhance the participant’s experience.

Recovery Inc. Self Help (Spanish):

This group is open for patients and anyone in the community. It uses cognitive-behavioral concepts, peer-to-peer support, and a self-help training system developed by Abraham Low, MD, to help individuals gain skills to lead more peaceful and productive lives.

Skills for Success:

This group is for participants seeking employment. Topics include employment barriers, creating a resume, completing a job application, preparing for job interviews, and job searching. Job leads will be shared.

Women’s Group:

Support group just for Women. Discuss those things that are on your mind, and that are of particular importance to women. Gain support from female peers. Learn about issues important to women by means of film and written articles and information.

DBT Friends and Family Program:

This program is designed to help friends and family to better understand their loved ones, increase friends’ and
families’ ability to support their loved ones through difficult times and teach friends and family skills to better handle difficult situations in all areas of life.

Project Return:

This is a peer-to-peer support to help individuals reach their personal goals, such as living independently, going to school, getting a job, having friends and enjoying life in the community. Some activities include playing games, crafts, express how they feel and discussing life topics.

Wellness Center

Employment One-on-One:

This group is intended for clients interested in gaining employment. They will develop skills which they can use to find a job. Some assistance includes resume writing, job coaching, interview skills, and job searching.

Heard Voices Group:

A recovery-based group consisting of a mindfulness exercise, a written narrative  a voice hearer, shared  individual experiences with voices and CBT based skills to modulate distress.

Recovery: Body Mind & Spirit:

This is a strength-based group identifying and utilizing the spiritual strengths and resources of participants. We will be exploring the concepts of resilience and growth, quality of life and well-being in relation to adversity and illness.

Recovery, Motivation and Relapse Prevention:

For individuals in recovery, experiencing lapses, or contemplating abstinence. We use and identify skills
from 12-Step, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive and Mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention.

Wellness Adventures:

This is a socialization group that involves taking clients out into the community. Some outings include libraries, museums, and amusement parks.
