The second-year social work interns’ group supervision is facilitated by Ulises Ramirez, LCSW and Victoria Butler, LCSW on a bi-weekly basis.  The purpose of the group supervision is for the social work intern to obtain case consultation from the facilitators and other social work interns.  The first half-hour is structured as a formal presentation by the intern who is scheduled to present and for other interns to have an opportunity to ask assessment questions.  The second half-hour allows for the group to conceptualize the case from a CBT framework or other modality as appropriate (e.g. family systems).   The group can then recommend a treatment plan and interventions based on the case conceptualization that was formulated.  The group supervision provides a rich clinical opportunity for students to do a case presentation
